NewLife-Second Chance Outreach, Inc. is committed to providing workforce development, job placement, educational training and other supportive services to individuals with criminal records who are seeking positive re-entry into their communities. We work to form collaborative partnerships with other community organizations and businesses in an effort to form relationships that will allow our clients to be employed and will give us the opportunity to spread awareness of the challengers of reentry and gain support for positive offender reentry.
The mission of NewLife-Second Chance Outreach, Inc. is to reduce crime and recidivism by equipping, empowering and restoring hope to socially and economically disadvantaged individuals affected by a criminal record through workforce development and job readiness training so that they may become productive, self-sufficient and law-abiding citizens.
It is the goal of NewLife-Second Chance Outreach, Inc. do our part in eliminating the inequalities to the access of economic and social opportunities for those impacted by a criminal conviction by rebuilding reentry through the removal of bias and stigmas that are associated with having a criminal record that often prevents those we serve with having access to the basic resources needed to thrive in their communities: identification, employment, housing, education and healthcare (all of which are not accessible to those returning home from prison).
It is also our goal to promote economic sustainability by connecting those we serve with access to employment and other job readiness and entrepreneurship skills so they may have the opportunity to be financially self-sufficient so as to gain affordable housing, have access to quality healthcare and education and thereby decrease their chances of re-offending and increasing their chances of moving out of poverty, fostering healthy relationships and making positive contributions to the communities in which they live. Therefore, our ultimate goal is to give a hand UP, not a handout to, to successful reentry.
It is the vision of NewLife-Second Chance Outreach, Inc. that our communities will be ones in which ALL citizens are given the opportunities needed to transform themselves into productive citizens through the support of their communities, the fostering of healthy relationships and the hiring of individuals with criminal histories that will allow them to better provide for their families so that they are able to make positive contributions to the communities in which they live.
We aim to get closer to this vision and goal by initiating and creating collaborative partnerships with other community organizations, social service agencies, churches, educational institutions and employers in an effort to gain support for positive offender reentry.
At NewLife-Second Chance Outreach, Inc., we believe that when inspired, encouraged and supported and when given hand UPS (not handouts), those with criminal records ARE able to be productive and successful within their communities if only given......... A SECOND CHANCE!
EQUIP. EMPOWER. RESTORE.
