We have served our time and should not be forced to serve an additional lifetime sentence of unemployment, homelessness, civic and spiritual castration, social stigmas and barriers, policies and laws put in place that discriminate against us and keep us from the vital resources we need to take care of ourselves and our families. We work, run businesses, buy homes, pay taxes and we want the best for our children just like everyone else and deserve the same equitable opportunities and resources that others have so that we can become and continue to be positive, productive and self-sufficient members of our community.
People need to be mindful that if we want people to be the best that they can be, it is our duty, especially if we call ourselves people of faith, to embrace the most vulnerable and marginalized members of our community and give them access to what they need to thrive and achieve upward mobility.”

WE'VE RECEIVE OUR 9th PROCLAMATION TO HONOR JULY AS REENTRY AWARENESS MONTH!
Proclamations from the Governor are issued at the discretion of the Governor as a courtesy to Georgia residents to recognize a day, week, or month for a cause of significant statewide interest.
Since receiving our 1st proclamation to honor July as Reentry Awareness Month in 2016, we have been a leader in advocating for awareness of the barriers to reentry as well as highlighting the successes of justice involved Georgians and the contributions we make to the state of Georgia. Therefore, we are excited to receive our 9th proclamation to observe July as Reentry Awareness Month throughout the state!
With the support of community partners throughout Georgia and New Jersey, to honor Reentry Awareness Month, we have several events planned in July to connect, educate, equip and bring awareness and solutions on the issues that justice-involved Georgians experience. In-person events are scheduled for Columbus and Atlanta. All events are free and open to the public and there will be free food and cash giveaways. Registration is required for all (except the resource fairs).
Therefore, join us, our friends, and partners for our upcoming virtual and in person events (Columbus and Atlanta) that will educate, equip, connect and restore justice-impacted Georgians, their families and the communities in which we live.
