Retired Army combat veteran, Kathy is a nonproft founder and leader with a Master's in Business Administration and is currently a PHD candidate at Liberty University with studies in Theology. Tierra Walters

With over 10 years experiance in office management and administration, Tierra has an amazing ability of making the priofessional lives of others organized and easier. As a survivor of domestic violence herself, she has a deep passion for advocating for other women with shared experiences of survival. She hopes to one day become a peer counselor. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, gardening and watching romantic comedies.

 

Discaimer: Due to Tierra being a survivor of domestic violence and has since relocated and reestablishing her life since her release from prison, her picture will not be used.

Quiet and soft spoken but a mighty force to be reckoned with. Andez states that his dedication to the mission of NewLife-Second Chance is “rooted in my own struggles with the legal system when I was 17 years old, and the lengthy battle of transitioning back into society”. He believes that his personal life experience enables him to find common ground with those he serves as well as proof that a productive life can be achieved post-release. He asserts that, with the exception of his family, one of his top goals is to “reach back and help those navigate a path that I’ve already crossed”.  Read more about Andez here.

Hardworking, spiritual, inspiring and a positive example of successfulness after incarceration, Dena is a Program Director with the Offender Alumni Association, a Birmingham, AL nonprofit that works to create a network of currently and formerly incarcerated individuals who inspire each other to reduce recidivism, develop healthy relationships within their communities, and provide opportunities for social, economic, and civic empowerment. Read more about Dena and her work here.

Kevin is a native of the Maryland, Virginia and D.C. areas. He is the owner of Affordable Living Alliance, LLC., a Douglasville, GA housing program. He is a recent graduate of Project Restart, an Atlanta based entrepreneurship training program that funds new businesses for formerly incarcerated individuals. Sharon Sadler, Birmingham (AL)

A community leader and advocate with a knack for health and nutrition. Sharon is a newlywed enjoying marriage and life with her husband Rob and her blended family of 7. She is a grandmother and great grandmother. She is employed with the University of Alabama’s Health Services Foundation as a Medical Office Specialist assisting 6 physicians. Aside from her volunteerism with NewLife-Second Chance Outreach, Inc., she serves on the board of directors of the Kingston Coalition and the Feed My Sheep Outreach, is a mentor for the Offender Alumni Association’s Heroes in the Hood program and the Dream Girls Academy.  

 

In her spare time, she enjoys speaking on health and nutrition, reading, writing and spending time with her family.
