Empowering Through Education
Fostering Knowledge for a Brighter Future
At NewLife-Second Chance Outreach, Inc., we believe that education is the cornerstone of empowerment and is a vital to upward mobility. Because it is crucial in the success of community reintegration for those impacted by the criminal legal system and those returning home from incarceration, our comprehensive programs are designed to uplift individuals by enhancing their knowledge and skills in 4 areas: voter education, computer literacy, finanacial literacy/wellness and entrepreneurship.
Through our voter education initiatives, we equip citizens with the information they need to make informed decisions at the ballot box by educating them on their voter rights and voting processes, thereby ensuring their voices are heard. In today’s digital age, our digital literacy programs are paramount. We teach essential technology skills that open doors to new employment opportunities and facilitate better access to information and services. Additionally, our focus on financial wellness prepares participants to manage their resources effectively and plan for a secure future. We offer workshops on budgeting, saving, and investing to empower individuals to make sound financial choices. Lastly, we encourage entrepreneurship by providing aspiring business owners with the knowledge and tools necessary to launch and sustain their own ventures.
Our mentorship and support systems foster innovation and creativity, helping individuals turn their ideas into realities. Join us in our mission to foster a community of informed and capable citizens who are ready to lead and thrive. Together, we can build a future driven by education and empowerment for Georgians impacted by an arrest, conviction or incarceration.

Supporting Democracy Through Voter Education & Engagement
Empower Yourself with Knowledge
Voting is a fundamental right and a powerful catalyst for change. For those of us who have been involved by the legal system, participating in elections is not just about casting a ballot; it's about influencing the decisions that directly impact our lives.
Our nonpartisan voter education programs aim to educate participants about their rights and responsibilities as voters, engage them to be active beyond election day and empower them to know that their vote matters. We provide comprehensive workshops that demystify the voting process, ensuring that everyone can make their voice heard in the democratic process before, during and after elections so that they are civically engaged within their communities.

Bridging the Digital Divide Through Computer Literacy
Enhancing Skills for the Modern World
In a digital age, being proficient with technology is vital. Our digital tool workshops cover everything from basic computer skills to accessing and navigating different technology platforms enabling participants to stay connected, enhance their marketability and adapt to the evolving job landscape.
In partnership with the the William Chapel-William C. Brown Library of the Dekalb Co. Library System, we are supporting justice-involved Georgians with digital literacy through a PAID, in person digital literacy skills course that starts on 3/8/25. APPLICATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED. Supporting Recidivism & Wealth Equity Through Entrepreneurship
Unlock Your Potential
Although employment is a critical lifeline for justice-involved and formerly incarcerated people, discriminatory employment policies and social stigmas prove to be the biggest barrier to a successful reintegration. Because entrepreneurship decreases the likelihood of re-offending, we prioritize entrepreneurship as a viable option to upward mobility.
